Why should we Praise the God ?The Psalms give three main reasons why we should praise God:
* God made us
We the human beings are masterpieces of amazing design, aesthetic beauty, majestic power and intricate complexity. And each of us human beings is also a work of art. God’s workmanship is indeed a major source of praise, not only on earth but also in heaven (cf. Revelation 4 v11).
* God provides for us
In Psalm 104 v24-26, the psalmist states about the animal world, “You give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.” It is God’s desire not only that all created things should have enough for basic survival, but that they should receive ‘good things’. His often abundant provision is also a cause of praise.
*God loves and cares for us
The well-known words of John 3 v16 remind us of God’s love for the world. Paul points to the time when God will bring about the liberation of all His creation, giving it a new freedom (Romans 8 v19-21). Whilst there is decay and suffering in this present world, both among animals and humans, God’s eventual purpose for His creation is a loving one of renewal: “a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelation 21 v1), where there are harmonious relationships between God and human beings and the rest of the natural world.
